How To Avoid Becoming Obese

- Obesity in the United States is becoming an epidemic.
- Obesity unfortunately is a risk factor for many disease. Such as: diabetes, arthritis, heart problems, and certain cancers.
- Other health problems that can develop are: strokes, varicose veins, kidney problems, infertility, gallstones, high blood pressure, hiatel hernias, hemorrhoids, and liver disease.
- People who are obese are likely going to consume high amounts of toxic food which depresses the immune system. When the immune system is weakened we become more susceptible to viruses or bugs that are being spread at home or in the work place.
- Don’t go on a diet! I suggest you don’t count calories or fat grams either. The best way to start to loose weight or avoid putting on weight is to eat more fresh foods, like fruits and vegetables. Whole grains are best too.
- When cooking, the methods I recommend are: steaming, broiling, roasting, and grilling your food. When grilling, if possible, use natural briquettes to avoid the toxicity of other charcoals. You should at all cost avoid eating fried foods.
- Sugar can be deadly. Americans are addicted to sugar. There is no nutritional value to sugar. It is considered empty calories. If you want to loose weight stop eating sugary foods.
Sugary Foods to Avoid:
Ice Cream
Cookies
White Bread
Sodas
Donuts
Cakes
Candy
Low-fat Sweets (they contain extra sugar to make up for the missing richness)
White Pasta
- Limit the intake of syrups, honey, fruit sugars, and molasses even though these products are a little less harmful they still lead to weight gain.
- Avoid junk food and processed foods. They are full of unnecessary calories with no nutritional value.
General Recommendations:
- Homeopathy is a natural method to help with cravings and poor eating habits. There are a couple of different remedies such as:
- Calcarea Carbonica which can help people who have cravings for dairy products, sweets, and eggs.
- Ignatia (Ignatia amara) is helpful for people who use food to make them feel better trying to emotionally satisfy themselves.
- Pulsatilla (Pulsatilla pratensis) is good to use when there is a strong craving for sweets.
- Staphysagria used for people who overeat as a way to cope with holding in anger.
Before using any homeopathy method consult with your homeopathic doctor.
- Acupressure can be considered to help with stimulating digestion, enhance metabolism, and assist with an out-of-control appetite.
- Reflexology can be beneficial in increasing metabolism and stimulating detoxification of the liver.
- Aromatherapy can be helpful in decreasing hunger pangs. Holding a vial of bergamot oil directly under the nose and inhaling can give immediate effects. Sitting in bath water with juniper oil helps release toxins from fatty tissue.
- Stress-reduction therapy can consist of deep breathing and visualization. By visualizing making healthy food choices, seeing yourself doing physical activities you can not normally do can also be a benefit. Yoga can help de-stress the body. If you are wanting to exercise but want to start out gently, yoga would be a good choice.
- I would like to stress getting out and walking or gentle yoga can be more effective than dieting alone. You don’t have to think it is necessary to run a marthon or be a weight trainer. Just being physical is helpful. If you are out of shape or have heart problems, consult with your doctor before starting an exercise program. Ease into any physical activity gradually.
- These are just a few brief ideas of avoiding becoming obese, or even how to start loosing weight if you have a few extra pounds of weight on your body. I suggest you do more reading and internet searching about obesity for more information.
